BOILER REPLACEMENT
Gas and oil boiler replacement
If your boiler is beyond economic repair, replacement is usually straightforward. The decisions worth taking time over are what you replace it with, and whether now is the moment to change fuel entirely

THE SERVICE
Replaced correctly, certified properly
We replace end of life gas and oil boilers with modern high efficiency condensing units. Gas installations are carried out by RGII registered engineers and oil installations by RCI registered engineers, with the relevant certification issued on completion.
A replacement is more than swapping the appliance. We check the system is clean and properly flushed, that the controls are appropriate, that the flue and ventilation comply, and that the boiler is correctly sized. An oversized boiler cycles inefficiently and wears faster, which is a common and avoidable fault in replacement work.
We will also tell you honestly whether a like for like replacement is the right call. If your property would suit a heat pump and the grant funding makes the economics work, that conversation is worth having before you commit to another fifteen years of fossil fuel.

WHY IT MATTERS
Replacing like for like is not automatically the right answer
The default is to fit whatever was there before, in the same place, at the same output. That is quick, but it locks in the running costs of the existing fuel for the life of the new appliance and often repeats an existing sizing error.
✔ Output should be recalculated if insulation has been improved since the original install
✔ System cleanliness affects the life of the new boiler and is often skipped
✔ Controls upgrades frequently deliver more saving than the appliance change itself
✔ If the property suits a heat pump, grant funding change the comparison significantly
